The VISION of the new committee is to get everyone in ECE involved in meaningful and fun SEED projects!   Therefore, the roles and responsibilities would include: (1) Think about new SEED ideas to get others excited (2) Discover new competitions that students can join beyond (3) Anything else you can think of to futher our VISION In particular, you would come up with ideas like the wireless power transmitter and mind control machine SEED projects, then encourage other students (or yourselves) to lead the project. I prefer to work closely with only 1 or 2 people – So apply only if you are willing to learn to improve your ability and character in organizing and managing at IEEE!  Let me know at cming2@illinois.edu

The External Relations Committee has had its first meeting! However, it’s not too late to get involved. The External Relations Committee is responsible for planning big events, like regional conferences, and IEEE National competitions. This year, we look to enter the UIUC branch in new competitions, maintain and improve our Fall conference (the SPAC), and start a new conference with the Univ. of Wisconsin branch. Send me an email at  mwilli26@illinois.edu  if you’re interested.

The social committee is where the fun is.  We hold our meetings at Murphy’s to plan social events for IEEE and with other engineering organizations, like HKN and WECE.  The goal of this committee and the social aspect of IEEE in general is to promote student camaraderie outside of the classroom and away from the books.  We do this by hosting fun activities such as happy hours, bar crawls, laser tag, athletic activities, and anything else you can think of that people would enjoy. If you are interested in being apart of this committee, email Tom Franklin at tfrankl22@gmail.com.  See you all at Legends!
